Proverbs 4:23 says: Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
God created us with a heart, from which all things flow. He works from a pure, clean heart. If you have anything in your heart that is not of god, then other things will be added. Anger, strife, malice, backbiting, unforgiveness and doubts in gods ability blocks you from receiving from god. God gives you gifts of the Holy Spirit to help you in your daily walk. If you are ill and have prayed for healing, you healing will only come through a clean heart. so when you pray, you repent and ask god for forgiveness.
Keeping things bottled up can lead to many different illnesses, asthma, stomach problems, because its that blockage that witches use to out illnesses on us. It stays because any blockage will keep God from answering your prayers. God can only work from a clean heart and a clean heart. God can give you peace if you have a clean heart. God is our burden bearer. If when you pray, you still worry about it, then god does not have it and cannot do anything with it. He has servants who are burden bearers. If they can feel your burden, or you're still worried about the situation you prayed about, then he does not have it. Lay your burdens at his feet, that way you can focus on other things while he works on that issue. Ask him to take your burden from you and give you his peace and he will.
The most important thing you can do to maintain peace in your life and keep your heart clean is to pray for peace. Tormenting spirits will constantly try to disrupt our lives, but god can calm the stormiest seas. Trust in him, believe in him and watch him work.
